Description
Provision of a mental health employment advisor to work across the two Plymouth Jobcentre's. The advisor will provide support for people who have mental health barriers to gaining employment. Mental health and suicide prevention is a key system priority identified in the mental health needs assessment, Plymouth Plan, the Plymouth Local Care Partnership and the One Devon ICS Strategy. Unemployment is a key driver of inequality in mental health and a risk factor for suicide. This proposed service continuation to have a mental health employment advisor in Plymouth Job Centres to support people with mental health barriers to accessing employment aims to continue to address mental health and employment needs in the city in a particularly vulnerable group to reduce health inequalities and improve productivity.
