Description
The Council is seeking to produce a bespoke, non-technical guidance note for the owners and occupiers of heritage buildings and properties located in conservation areas to assist them in understanding what measures are appropriate to improve their energy efficiency and to contribute to renewable and low carbon energy generation. It will also be a useful source of information for other parties with an interest in these maters including Council officers and members, Parish/Town councils and professional agents. This new guidance should be in accordance with all national and local policy and guidance, and the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and should be a robust document to support, guide, and assist in the management of the Borough's heritage buildings to balance the requirement to conserve and enhance their significance with responding to the climate emergency.
