Description
Participating Trusts within the East Midlands currently have insufficient capacity for the aseptic production of ready to administer drugs to meet their expanding needs, therefore a supplier/supplier(s) has been sought to supplement the current service through the provision of a high quality, cost effective service to supply ready to administer injectable products. The term "Ready to Administer Injectable Product" is intended to mean that the product is presented in a syringe or infusion bag that requires no further manipulation prior to administration Contract extension in accordance with Procurement Policy Note 01/21 to ensure continuity of supply for our patients. The EMPC have been in closer communication with our supply base over the last year to ensure continuity of supply due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic. Suppliers have expressed concern over their ability to respond to Tenders during this time of uncertainty and potentially being in a position of not being able to respond as their businesses are challenged more than ever before. This would impact patients and given the pressures suppliers and stakeholders are facing, this position would be untenable for all.
