Description
As part of its 2015 Devolution Deal , the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) is to prepare a statutory Spatial Development Strategy (SDS) in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations . This SDS will be the first of its kind for the Liverpool City Region. It will set out the Mayoral Combined Authority's strategy for spatial development on a city region-wide scale through a range of planning policies concerning development and land use that will apply across the Combined Authority area. When published, the SDS will form part of the development plan for the Liverpool City Region authorities meaning it will be used in the determination of planning applications and all Local Plans subsequently prepared by the constituent local authorities must be in general conformity with it. The SDS must also have regard to other Combined Authority policies or proposals that have spatial development considerations; for example those relating to housing, transport, skills and employment, economic development, energy and the environment.
