Description
The current arrangements with HM Revenue & Customs were agreed in 1997 and reviewed in 2001. Huntingdonshire District Council routinely exceeds the 5% VAT Partial Exemption limit, the cost to the Authority being estimated at £0.230m for the financial year 2015/16 mainly due to the operation of five “in-house” Leisure Centres. The Council is seeking suitably qualified contractors with the necessary experience in local authority tax matters to undertake a review of VAT arrangements and subject to the outcome of that review and agreement of the Council undertake further work to recover overpaid VAT. We are seeking prices for the initial investigation and report and follow-up work to be undertaken on a contingency basis. Expressions of interest, please.
