Description
This project relates to the delivery of a new city centre HQ for the Authority. A summary of the Authority's requirements are set out below. For further information on the project; site information; the procurement process; and the Authority's requirements please refer to the 'Memorandum of Information' and the 'Authority's Requirements'. • The HQ should integrate, respect and contribute to the historic city of Durham. It should be contemporary, with high quality architecture and landscaping reflecting its civic nature. • The HQ should provide office accommodation for 1000 FTE across 700 workstations, civic facilities including a Council chamber, committee rooms, and office accommodation for Members. • The HQ should provide a minimum of 200 parking spaces. • The HQ should be set in a landscape that integrates into the wider context offering opportunities for place making and community use. • The HQ should provide a contemporary working environment in line with current best practice. It should support Smarter Working principles and ensure they are integrated into the design from the outset. • The HQ should offer opportunities for DCC to generate revenue both internally and externally through its flexible and well thought through design.
