The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) is Britain's leading industrial health and safety facility. HSL supports HSE's mission to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled. HSL are inviting tenders for the supply of Digital Mass Flow Controllers and associated power, mounting and control assembly. BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT For the calibration/validation of air sampling methods, sampler devices, sensors and the production of laboratory proficiency test samples, HSL requires the ability to produce stable standard gas atmospheres for a range of inorganic and organic gases with the ability to draw precisely metered quantities of air from such chambers through sampling devices. OBJECTIVES Production of uniform batches of test samples using precisely metered quantities of air. SPECIFICATION REQUIRED The requirements are for • 30 x Digital Mass Flow Controllers (MFCs) calibrated for air with a flow range of 1-250 ml/min @ STP • Inlet and outlet connectors with standard 1/8"" fittings • Associated assembly to include chassis for mounting MFCs, power supply for MFCs and communication with HSL propriety software/PC via RS485 • Copy of protocol for communicating with MFCs must be supplied. Warranty: Customary warranty or extended warranty to be offered. HSL would like to a achieve 24 month warranty period as standard for the instrument. Other Services: We would also like to look at preventative maintenance and calibration services
