Description
Under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, every top tier English Local Authority is required to have a Local Healthwatch in its borough. The role of a local Healthwatch is to ensure that the voices of service users, patients and the public are heard in the design, commissioning and delivery of health and social care services in the borough. A dedicated budget was allocated by Central government to enable this to happen.
