Description
The Philippines has set ambitious targets to increase the share of renewable energy in its power generation mix to 50% by 2040. As the country expands its use of clean energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower, regulatory bodies require more advanced tools to assess the system-wide and consumer-level impacts of this transition. This RFQ seeks a supplier to support the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in developing a tailored power system cost simulation tool. The tool will enable ERC to analyze the impacts of different renewable energy scenarios on overall system costs and electricity tariffs, helping to guide evidence-based regulatory decisions. The supplier will work closely with ERC to co-design the tool, gather and validate data, run scenario simulations, and deliver training workshops. The intervention aims to strengthen ERC's capacity to assess future renewable energy investments and support an inclusive, sustainable energy transition aligned with national policy goals.
