Description
As part of its statutory duty, and in line with its vision, priorities and values, Westmorland and Furness Council recently went out for tender for this All-Age Carers Service to support unpaid carers across Westmorland and Furness. The key priorities the Service needs to deliver against are outlined below. • Carers are recognised by health and social care professionals • Carers receive information, advice and guidance • Carers are supported to have healthy and fulfilled lives • Carers are supported to have breaks from their caring role • Carers' voices are heard and valued • Carers have a say in how their services are delivered • Carers are protected from harm An unpaid Carer is anyone who cares for a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their physical or mental health, disability, or an addiction, and would find it difficult to manage without their support. Carers can be of any age, supporting a child or an adult.
