Description

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that was established in April 2004 to takeover the management of housing services on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). SCH's responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the Councils' housing stock of approximately 10,500 tenanted homes and 1,150 leasehold properties. This portfolio includes houses, maisonettes, high rise and low rise flats, sheltered accommodation and community centres. The management and maintenance of these properties includes assessing any potential structural damage and undertaking the required Structural Repairs as necessary. During the last 12 month period SCH has carried out Structural Damage Investigations and Repairs at approximately 60 properties. Typical problems encountered in the area include:  Concrete degradation  Chemical attack of ground floor concrete slabs  Lintel failure / lack of support to openings  Subsidence  Defects in System Built Properties  Issues caused by local ground conditions  Drainage defects Solihull Community Housing (SCH) ("the Employer") wishes to enter into Contract with a Contractor ("the Contractor") for Provision of Structural Engineer Services for works relating to Structural Repairs undertaken by SCH and its Contractors. The Employer invites Tender submissions from Tendering Contractors for the provision of the Works as detailed within the Statement of Services Required. The Employer anticipates that the Contract shall commence 1 July 2017 and shall be for an initial 2 year duration completing 30 June 2019 with an option to extend the contract by up to a further 12 month period subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The works are of a responsive ad-hoc nature and therefore no guarantee of volume, value, duration or continuity of works can be given and no subsequent claims for loss of profit or earnings will be entertained. The Contract value is estimated at £50,000 per annum. The successful contractor is to be selected through a formal tender process. The closing date for the submission of completed tender documents is no later than 12.00 midday on Friday 21 April 2017.
