Description
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence based model of employment support for people with mental health problems. Tower Hamlets CCG and Mental Health and Employment Partnership have jointly commissioned IPS services in Tower Hamlets since April 2016 and are now in need of a new IPS contract from April 2020 after the current contract ends. Over four years this service will deliver support to over 1000 individuals, with high fidelity to the principles of Individual Placement and Support (IPS), an evidence-based model promoted by the Centre for Mental Health in the UK. The overall aim of this service is to support people with severe mental illness to achieve paid, competitive employment in a fulfilling, sustainable way. Through this, we aim to support adults in Tower Hamlets to: • Recover more rapidly and effectively from their mental illness • Build social connections and support networks • Gain financial independence • Improve their general health and wellbeing
