Description
Overarching aims of the Regional Construction Skills Training Framework are to: i. Support unemployed and socially disadvantaged residents into construction training and employment; ii. Increasing wages and progression opportunities in the construction sector iii. Provide skills and retraining support to construction workers at risk of redundancy; iv. Provide engagement programmes with young people at school or college, raising their awareness and progress routes towards career options in the construction sector. v. Provide enhanced curriculum delivery in schools or college in construction related subjects vi. Enable access to targeted work experience placements for young people interested in construction careers; vii. Increase the flow of recruits into the construction industry by expanding the volume of construction pre-apprenticeship training opportunities to build a steady pipeline of apprenticeship-ready recruits for local companies to employ; viii. Increase the number of ex-services personnel undertaking training and support leading to employment in the construction sector; ix. Established targeted recruitment campaigns to promote the construction industry, with a focus on women and other under-represented groups.
