Description

As part of the international response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, a large number of sanctions have been introduced against people, entities and ships pursuant to new powers contained in the Economic Crime Bill. A number of sanctions have been introduced in the UK to mirror their introduction abroad by the UK's allies. Under the Regulations, the UK then has 56 days to produce a Sanctions Designation Form (SDF) in support of the introduction of these sanctions. Due to the unprecedented scale of sanctions introduced in response to the Ukraine crisis and the short timescale for the production of SDFs, external support is needed to conduct open-source research and produce evidence packs to ensure that the 56-day deadline can be met.
