Play Area - The Ridings, Chipping Sodbury

Sodbury Town Council has secured s106 funding for the amount of approximately £80,000 for the creation of a new play area on land known as The Ridings in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. The play area will be for older children aged 7 to 12 years. The specification details the particulars but different layout options will be considered, for example several items of equipment forming a trail or one or two larger more focal items, but all play items must be under 4m in height which is a planning constraint. Safety surfacing will be required but fencing is not. It is anticipated that the programme of works will start in late September 2022 after the school holidays and is expected to be completed in 3 to 4 weeks. Full documents outlining the project scope and specification will be available for prospective tenderers to view. Submitted proposals will be judged against the following criteria: Play value, design, cost, maintenance cost. A public consultation process will be undertaken once the submitted proposals are received to help evaluate them and determine the preferred scheme. Application will be by the submission of a formal tender. All details are included on the Design Brief Document which will be attached. The closing date for submissions is Wednesday 18th May 2022 at 12.00 Noon. Tenders need to be submitted in hard copy via post (or delivered by hand) in an envelope obtained from Sodbury Town Council, especially for tender submission purposes.
