Description
Babcock Land Defence Limited, acting as agent for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, awarded a new contract with Horstman Defence Systems Ltd (Horstman) for the Repair of TERRIER Armoured Engineer Tractor (AET) Horstman suspension components and associated items. It is considered that this contract is let using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice in accordance with Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. TERRIER Armoured Engineer Tractor (AET) suspension components and associated items are specifically configured for the TERRIER Armoured Engineer Tractor (AET) hull and military operational environment end use. As the Original Equipment Designer and Manufacturer of the TERRIER suspension components, only Horstman have the technical information and data necessary to perform the requirement without introducing an unacceptable level of risk to operational safety and MOD operational requirements.
