Description
The green wall at St Johns is part of a major investment in green infrastructure in Liverpool, funded through the Horizon 2020 Urban GreenUP project. The basis for the project is to develop nature based solutions to the problems facing our cities. Innovation and effective monitoring of the impacts of the green infrastructure interventions are key to the success of Urban GreenUP. The focus for the green wall is to improve habitat availability and connectivity for pollinators. The term pollinator wall has been used to describe the intervention. The pollinator wall in the BID demo area at St Johns will cover an area of approx. 300m2 and provide an impact in a major route through the city. The wall will also link to the work Williamson Square and Lime St., helping to improve green infrastructure connectivity through the city.
