Description
The project is to carry out masonry repairs to defective masonry cladding to the Beetwell MSCP. The carpark is a multi-storey 7-storey (14 split level deck) reinforced concrete frame structure that is clad in brickwork. This brickwork has been identified as being defective due to the lack of movement joints and differential movements occurring between the concrete structure and the masonry. It is proposed to take down and re-build the top storey of brickwork and re-build incorporating new movement joints and ties. The remaining cracks are to be stitch repaired with the formation of new movement joints and ties. It is a requirement of the contract that the car-park remains open during the works and that a minimum of 80% of the parking spaces remain available throughout the contract.
