Description
The Council has invested significant amounts of money regenerating Hemel Hempstead Town Centre over the last couple of years which includes the redevelopment of the Gade Zone which includes the construction of a new civic building titled the Forum which homes Dacorum Borough Council. The Council's old building, the Civic Centre which is located in close vicinity to the new offices, needs to be demolished to allow the Council to complete the regeneration of the Gade Zone by building new residential properties. The Civic Offices were originally constructed in the 50s as part of Hemel Hempstead's New Town Developments. Due to the age of the building, there is a large amount of Asbestos that will require removal prior to the demolition taking place. The building will need to be demolished in line with the demolition protocols provided in the CDM Regulations.
