Description
To ensure Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Trust) has measures in place to provide adequate support in managing the risks associated with its water systems (e.g. Legionella bacteria and other water-borne organisms associated with such systems), the Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of Authorising Engineer in relation to water services (The Services). Health Technical Memorandum 04-01 (Safe water in healthcare premises) mandates the Trust to appoint a competent person to provide the Services required. The purpose of the Services is to provide external auditing and guidance to facilitate the Trust's compliance under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2022 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The objective is to ensure the Trust has robust measures in place to protect immunosuppressed patients from infections (E.g. legionella disease). Infection in such circumstance can lead to loss of life and is typically regarded as one of the highest risks an NHS Trust estates department has to manage. The Contract has been procured via Lot 8h (Waste and Recycling) of the ESPO 664_21 Consultancy Services Framework: https://www.espo.org/consultancy-services-664-21.html
