Description
Sheffield City Council in collaboration with the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, seek to develop a collaborative relationship with the Independent Sector to deliver impartial Disagreement Resolution and Mediation Services to Service Users and Education Providers, Local Authorities or Health Commissioners. Local Authorities have an obligation to inform Parents and Young People of the possibility of resolving disagreements across Education, Health and Social Care through the Disagreement Resolution and Mediation Procedures. Education, Health and Social Care Providers should also have Complaints Procedures which, along with details about appealing to the Tribunal, should be made known to Parents and Young People through the Purchasers Information, Advice and Support Service. The Children and Families Act 2014 makes provision for Parents and Young People to access a Disagreement Resolution Process or Mediation Service prior to registering an appeal with the First-tier Tribunal.
