Description
Amber Valley Council (AVBC), is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified service provider to deliver a turnkey lump sum fixed project, with an estimated value of £390-£420k. The successful bidder will be commissioned on a design and build basis to provide a 'turn key' fully serviceable replacement building/catering facility at Belper River Gardens in Derbyshire-which is within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. The existing -now derelict Swiss Tea Rooms built in 1906-is beyond economic repair and will need demolishing and clearing before construction of the replacement building can take place. Given the heritage sensitivities of the location, it is envisaged the replacement building externally will be aesthetically sympathetic to the original yet offer modern contemporary facilities within. The successful bidder will be required to participate in the consultation with stakeholders and obtain full planning as part of the project before works commence. The aim of the Council is to have the project completed and the facility fully operational for Summer of 2019. It is anticipated a tender pack /documents will be available form the 19/11/18. To register an expression of interest please email the author by 12.00 noon Friday 16/11/18.
