Description
DVSA is looking to procure the services of a supplier to deliver Level 3 Diploma/Qualification in Light and Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair for approximately 48 delegates in total over the initial contract period. DVSA Vehicle Examiners need to possess advanced technical knowledge gained through extensive hands-on experience and formal qualifications, typically at Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. This includes expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex systems such as engines, transmissions, electrical components, and emissions controls. They are trained to apply structured fault-finding methods, use diagnostic equipment, and interpret regulatory standards to assess vehicle compliance. Their understanding of legal and safety requirements enables them to produce accurate technical reports and confidently present evidence in court, supporting enforcement actions with professional, evidence-based assessments. All complete courses must be delivered within a defined two-year period to align with DVSA’s overall training process and staff probation timelines. Course modules will be delivered on a block‑release basis. The supplier must provide multiple UK training locations, preferably in the north and south, that are conveniently located near transport links to minimise delegate travel. Sessions shall be delivered through a blended learning model that utilises virtual training and/or e‑learning where physical attendance is not essential. Where face-to-face training is required, it will take place at the supplier’s premises.
