Description
Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) is responsible for the commissioning of health services for a local population of c390,000. There are 62 local General Practices, organised on a three-locality model, and an emergent local pan-Barnet GP federation. The Governing Body of the CCG includes 9 GPs, including representatives from each of the localities. Following a successful financial turnaround programme the CCG is now shaping its strategy for improvement and transformation in the context of system-wide (North Central London) working and, in a number of areas, leadership. The CCG is seeking external support to design and implement a practice and public engagement programme, designed to strengthen local influence on and ownership of its commissioning strategy and intentions. As well as specific activities focussing on the shaping of commissioning intentions for 2017/18, support is sought to advise on and design a sustainable approach to/strategy for engagement. A CCG practice and public engagement strategy is therefore a key output of the programme of support, enabling sustainable engagement with localities, members and local communities on strategic direction, specific changes, insight and information feedback.
