Description

Whitnash Town Council intends to replace the several community facility and amenity sites with a single Community Hub to be located in Acre Close Field, Whitnash, Warwickshire. The contract awarded will be for a duration of 6 months (Phase 1 - Design Phase) with an option for an extension for up to an additional 12 months (Phase 2 - Construction Phase) dependant on whether Planning Permission has been approved for the Community Hub, full capital funding has been found to fund the construction and satisfactory performance against quality objectives during the first 6 months. The appointed Architect will lead on the design for the community building to RIBA 4 Detailed Design stage enabling full planning to be submitted. A feasibility study and business plan have already been undertaken which identifies the scope and scale of the proposed community building and this is included as Annex to this ITT. Working alongside the client's representative, the duties will include; - Prepare draft designs and layouts for Whitnash Town Council - Attendance at project meetings with members of the Town Council and their representatives - Work alongside the Town Council and its representatives to select a design that best meets the needs of the community in line with the Business Plan - Finalise selected designs and lead on preparing the necessary documentation for the planning process. - Ensure the principles of sustainability and whole life costing are applied to the project. The successful architectural firm will be able to demonstrate; - Ability to articulate well defined, contemporary design solutions within the confines and limits of the building on land in a predominately residential area. - Ability to work within tight budgets and use innovative approaches to ensure maximum benefit of any investment. - Ability to work well with a range of stakeholders and a proven approach to communicating with expert and inexperienced audiences. - Proven track record of delivering small, complex projects whilst working to time and budget - Sound financial standing - Experience of working with the public sector, not-for-profit sector and volunteer boards
