Description
Effective fireground communications are crucial to the work of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) in resolving incidents and ensuring firefighter safety, particularly between sectors and when breathing apparatus (BA) crews are deployed. The interoperability of communications between services at cross border and major incidents can also be critical to effective operations. The proposed contract is for the purchase of portable radio equipment and accessories for use by NFRS during incidents. The contract term is 3 years with the option to extend for further periods up to a maximum contract length of 5 years. The contract is a call off the CCS Network Services 3 Frameworks, Lot 1C 'Tactical Radio Systems' (reference RM6116), following a further competition.
