Description
The Department needs to understand the impact of mineral development policy on the local environment. The minerals policy will set the framework for mineral exploration and development, therefore the Department requires a Supplier to carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) that fully meets the requirements of The Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004, and a Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) that fully meets the requirements of Regulation 43 of the Conservation (Natural Habitats, etc.) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (as amended). Suppliers should refer to the Specification Schedule for full detail on the deliverables of this contract.

There will be an option to extend the contract for 2 further periods of up to 6 months each for contingency purposes, in order to address unforeseen delays. During the course of the contract, should additional work within the core scope of this tender specification be identified, having previously not been identified, contract extensions may also be used to allow for such work to be conducted, however extra funding will not be available.
