Ambition for Ageing - Festival of Ageing

Festival of Ageing - This fun and influential festival in July 2018 will celebrate the contributions of people aged over 50, and challenge stereotypes of ageing. The provider will plan and host a series of events and support people in communities to host their own events too. The festival will highlight the opportunities that ageing brings in Greater Manchester. The festival will be free for all to access and engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Ambition for Ageing is a unique cross sector partnership of influential organisations, led by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO), with the aim of developing creative approaches to reducing social isolation for older people in Greater Manchester. The programme is part of the Big Lottery's national Ageing Better programme which is funding 14 programmes across England. Ambition for Ageing operates in eight areas of Greater Manchester - Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside, and Wigan.
