Provision of Spiral Platers

Public Health England (PHE) awarded a contract for the spiral platers for its Food, Water and Environmental (FW&E) Microbiology Services to Don Whitley Scientific Limited. The use of a spiral plater system saves resource for the laboratories in terms of staff time and also removes the repetitive strain issues associated with pipetting and spreading such small volumes across agar plates. The initial purchase is for three FW&E Microbiology Services laboratories, which inoculate approximately 2,500 plates per month per instrument. This contract covers further instruments, if required as well as the fully comprehensive extended warranty.
