Description
A Better Start Southend ("ABSS") is part of a ten-year programme set up by the National Lottery Community Fund with the aim of transforming services for very young children. Southend-on-Sea is one of five sites that will share funding as the Programme develops. ABSS is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and is being delivered in partnership with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council ("the Council") and managed by the Early Years Alliance ("Lead Organisation"). The Programme has the support of a range of other local organisations and agencies. ABSS offers a once in a generation opportunity to make a real difference to the future of all Southend-on-Sea's children, particularly those in the identified A Better Start Wards (Kursaal, Milton, Shoeburyness, Victoria, Westborough and West Shoebury). The ABSS programme is seeking to appoint a single Provider or a Partnership or Consortium of two or more Providers (in either case referred to as the "Provider") to deliver a Mixed-Approach Preparation for Parenthood Service. This Service will principally consist of developing and leading Preparation for Parenthood groups and activities in line with national framework in partnership with local communities but also include a range of other associated supports.
