Description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS AGCSU) on behalf of NHS Walsall CCG, NHS Wolverhampton CCG, NHS Dudley CCG and NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG (referred to as the Commissioners) invited suitably qualified providers to deliver Assisted Conception Services for the Commissioners registered patient populations. As a result of this procurement exercise an agreement has been established with the successful Bidder for a period of 5 years with the Commissioners having the option to extend the Contract for up to a further 2 years. The contract start date will be 1st August 2020. The aim of the Assisted Conception Service is to: • Increase the pregnancy and subsequent live birth rate for those patients wishing to have a child, who meet the criteria to access licensed treatment. • Provide storage of gametes or embryos for patients who are on an NHS funded pathway likely to cause infertility (e.g. patients receiving cancer treatment likely to impact on their future fertility). Storage costs shall be covered for one year only. • Provide a quality, safe, cost effective Assisted Conception Service ensuring that the risk of infection and other complications such as OHSS and multiple pregnancy to service users is minimised. • Provide a personal service sensitive to the physical, psychological and emotional needs of service users, including service users being offered counselling with a Specialist Fertility counsellor in line with the HFEA Code of Practice. • To develop and implement a data collection and monitoring process which provides intelligence to support the future commissioning of fertility services / policy development. The objectives of the service are to: • Increase incidence of live births • Increase rates of singleton births • Reduce rates of multiple births • Contribute to reduce the incidence of anxiety and/or depression The total estimated value of the procurement / contract included in this notice is based on the maximum term of the agreement (i.e. 7 Years)
