Description
The memorial gardens were constructed by Network Rail to commemorate the victims of individual rail accidents/disasters and provide a special and poignant way to remember loved ones. The gardens are frequently visited by survivors of the incidents, relatives of the victims and in some cases open to the public. They are all located on Network Rail land spanning various routes and we have a commitment to maintain them. The first garden was built in 2002 in Great Heck near Selby, following the positive response a decision was made to erect ones at Southall, Hatfield and Potters Bar. More recently we have been asked to take over the maintenance of the small memorial site at Porthmadog, Wales. This Contract is for the provision of a maintenance service for the Railway Memorial Gardens to include supplying labour, equipment and the appropriate products to maintain the garden planting, seating, stonework/paving, fencing and safe access at the above sites. However Porthmadog, Wales will only require three maintenance visits per year.
