Description
The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) has appointed a Managing Agent to represent the interests of both the MCA and DfT at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Headquarters building. The IMO is a specialised agency of the United Nations and is the only UN organisation based in the UK. DfT owns the freehold of the estate and landlord responsibilities rest with the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the IMO who is based at the MCA. The MCAs UK International Liaison Team is the primary point of contact for the day to day management of the contract. The appointed Managing Agent, supported by an extended team is appointed to ensure: a) all statutory works, maintenance and inspections are undertaken. b) that the building remains compliant with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and associated best practice; and c) that a programme of agreed essential works are undertaken to ensure the continued occupation and use of the building is to the standard that IMO require to fulfill their operational requirements. The procurement for this awarded contract was undertaken via the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) - Construction Professional Services (RM6165) framework and CCS reference number CPS1-25922-2023 applies.
