Description
Tendring District Council is seeking to commission Consultants to undertake a light touch review of the current Economic Development Strategy and Employment Land Review to update their conclusions, provide robust, up to date evidence for the Examination in Public for the Council's new Local Plan, and inform the possible direction of travel for future economic growth. The review of the Economic Development Strategy will identify the means through which the Council will diversify and strengthen Tendring's economy and create the right economic conditions to deliver sustainable economic growth across a variety of sectors. The Employment Land Review will more specifically focus on policies for the allocation and protection of employment land. It will also include additional research to inform the strategy to deliver new employment opportunities as part of the large strategic sites allocated for mixed use development in the new Local Plan. The two studies are intrinsically linked and should inform each other in terms of evidence and key actions. The successful consultants may be called upon to provide expert witness advice at the Examination (as a separate costed item) as appropriate. This possibility would be a requirement of this commission.
