Description

Rothschild Bungalow is situated on Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve just south of Peterborough. The site is protected for Nature Conservation and so access is restricted to low ground pressure vehicles. The bungalow is located approximately 500 metres from the access bridge. The bungalow was constructed in 1910 and is a famous iconic building. The nature of the site causes movement of the land and so regular maintenance is required on site infrastructure. The following works on the Rothschild Bungalow are required: 1. Repair and re-rendering of the piers supporting the ground floor 2. Remove damaged sections of corrugated sheeting below the floor slab. 3. Repair and protect exposed soffit of the concrete floor slab. 4. Removal of corrosion from ground floor steel beams and re-paint. 5. Repair balcony floor slab and adjust levels to allow water run-off. 6. Repair chimney render. 7. Re-decorate all timber window frames and external doors with suitable quick drying water repellent paint. 8. Make good internal woodwork to seal up openings and re-stain walls, ceiling and doors.
