A435 Cycleway Cheltenham to Bishops Cleeve (Honeybourne Line to Racecourse Roundabout)

This advert is intended to notify potential suppliers of the tender for the A435 Cycleway scheme between Honeybourne Line to Racecourse Roundabout.\r \r The site is found in the north of Cheltenham from Folly Lane (approx. post code GL50 4BY) towards Central Cross Drive (approx. post code GL52 2AL) and extending to Racecourse Roundabout (approx. post code GL50 4QB). This is part of a wider strategic scheme to address the needs of pedestrians and cyclists and create the Gloucestershire Cycle Spine.\r \r The overall scheme will implement a continuous cycleway for cyclists of all ages and abilities between the main hubs of Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud, utilising London Road, Cheltenham Road, B4063, A40 and A435.\r \r This contract is looking for a Principal Contractor to deliver the construction phase of Honeybourne Line to Racecourse Roundabout. A more detailed summary of the works is included below:\r \r Construction Phase key Deliverables are as follows:\r Provide suitable Traffic Management during the construction works.\r Pedestrian access to residents always during the construction works.\r Utility diversion works (being arranged by GCC for PC to liaise/accommodate).\r New drainage works and tie-in to existing.\r A mixture of Highway, segregated footway / cycleway track and new shared use path construction.\r Remove existing and install new kerbs to match new alignment.\r Junction and carriageway realignments.\r Installation of new informal/formal pedestrian crossings.\r Carriageway surfacing repairs and reprofiling.\r New traffic signals facilities across the route.\r Landscape and planting.\r Streetlighting column relocation.\r \r A summary of the outline programme for the scheme is shown below:\r Tender period: Friday 4th August 2023\r Award: Friday 22nd September 2023\r Anticipated Works Start Date: Monday 30th October 2023\r Completion: Friday 30th August 2024\r Overall Duration:44 weeks\r Indicative Value: £3.55m + VAT = £4.26m\r \r The proposed procurement route will be a single stage (Open Procedure) using the NEC4 ECC form of Contract, Option A Priced Contract with Activity Schedule.\r \r Full details are available in the tender pack.
