Description

The Department for Education intends to publish a new opportunity in late November 2025, for the delivery of grants under the Tackling Antisemitism in Education Innovation Fund. Hate crime, discrimination and racism do not have a place in Britain. The loss of life and the targeting of worshipers during the terrorist attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on 2nd October was a devastating reminder of the challenges faced by Jewish communities. The Department is taking proactive steps to tackle it across educational settings. The Innovation Fund, with a total value of £4 million, will comprise of a range of grants that will facilitate small-scale initiatives and larger, strategic projects. Funded projects will support education about antisemitism, including the relationship between mis and disinformation online and the spread of antisemitism, and will provide young people with the skills and confidence to identify and tackle it. Following previous market engagement and the valuable feedback provided, three thematic priorities have been identified. Proposals should align with at least one of the following delivery areas: - Improving media literacy skills and identification of mis and disinformation. - Promotion of tolerant discourse and discussion. - Fostering interfaith and ethnic collaboration and increasing awareness of prejudice. Prior to the launch of the application window, the Department would like to hear your thoughts and receive feedback on our planned approach for the Innovation Fund, to ensure it has maximum impact and reach to tackle antisemitism in education. We are hosting a virtual market engagement event on 30 October 2025 13:00-14:00. It will consist of a brief presentation and there will be an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions. All communication regarding this event and forthcoming grant competitions will be conducted via the Jaggaer system. Please express your interest in this opportunity via Jaggaer to register attendees for this event.
