Description
The Council is required through a ‘sufficiency duty’ to secure sufficient accommodation for children and young people under their care who cannot live at home. Children’s Services has developed a specification for semi-independent living to improve the sufficiency of high-quality supported housing in Dorset through block contracting. The aim is to provide young people with security and stability for as long as it is needed, as well as to offer support and accommodation that enables care leavers and vulnerable young people to feel safe and develop independent living skills. There will be a range of level of support to meet a variety of requirements of young people, including those with more complex needs.
