Description
SCDC are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide conservation support services. 19. The appointed contactor would be required to carry out the following tasks: o Principally, to provide in a timely manner, specialist, balanced advice on pre-applications/applications in relation to historic environment, to assist in the assessment and determination of applications as part of the planning process. o Contribute as and when this may be required, to the delivery of planning appeals on the historic environment, including representing the council at informal hearing, and acting as an expert witness at public enquiry on behalf of the local planning authority within the timescales set. o To enable as may be required, the development of projects on a Local Heritage list and/or a Heritage at Risk Register with management support. o To enable as may be required, the writing of Conservation area Appraisals in the context of an agreed programme of priority. o As may be required, to assist the delivery of refresher training (with accompanying written material) for planning officers in relation to historic environment.
