Description

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (the Council) would like to appoint a Consultation lead to support the Better Queensway Project during the consultation phase of the project. The Better Queensway project is a large scale project that will regenerate the Queensway area of Southend-on-Sea over the coming years. The project includes infrastructure and property development on a site of approximately 5 hectares on the edge of Southend-on-Sea town centre and adjacent to Southend Victoria rail station. The proposed development area has been identified as a high priority corporate project, where an improvement in the housing stock and environment is required and has therefore been identified as the core vision of the Better Queensway project. The Council has summarised this vision as: \"Better Housing, Better Living, Better Place\". The Council have developed a series of objectives / requirements that build on this vision and express the Council's aspirations for the scheme. Through an iterative process a scheme design has been developed that build in the key elements, and details of this design have been used to test the viability of the project. Before moving to the next stage of this project; getting a partner on board, the Project Board has taken a decision to consult with all stakeholders. The project has worked on building good relationships for the past two years with the residents and the community with regular resident meetings and newsletters. The team have also created an engagement website and held several design and engagement sessions. It is now the right time to build on this and have a meaningful and formal consultation. To view this opportunity you must be registered on Procontract e-tendering portal https://procontract.due-north.com submissions and clarifications must be made via the portal. Documents will be available on the portal as soon as you have registered your interest.
