WEM - Lot 4 - Penrith Road Flood Alleviation

This project is awarded through further competition via WEM (EA Framework). The scheme comprises the construction of a new flood storage attenuation pond on land at Springsfield, a new pumping station within the highway adjacent to Wivell Park on Penrith Road (discharging into the River Greta), and property level protection measures to properties between Ambleside Road and Penrith Road. The scheme will protect 118 properties. The scheme budget is funded by a combination of Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Grant in Aid (FCERM GIA), Local Levy, Cumbria County Council and Keswick Flood Action Group.
