Description

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) operates using a bespoke system known as Institute Data Service (IDS), that has been built and maintained by a team of in-house software developers and contractors. The Institute Data Service (IDS), is an essential internal digital service that provides information to assist case management and data reports to support core Institute decision-making - particularly board reports, panel packs and route reviews. IDS is used as an internal case management system used to record the approval process of apprenticeships, higher technical qualifications (HTQs), technical level qualifications (T-Levels) and other occupational products. IDS manages the submission process of apprenticeships during the 8-week cycle and allows users to record and comment on any decisions made throughout the approval process of qualifications. Product Managers (PMs) are able to access and view all apprenticeships assigned to them and download ready-made presentations containing publicly available data. Currently, IDS sits on the Department for Education's (DfE) Azure environment and is monitored by their infrastructure service provision. DfE do not play an active role in the management, configuration or continuous improvements for the system
