Description

Applications are invited to provide a Dyslexia and Specific Learning Need Service for doctors and dentists in Postgraduate Training within Health Education England working across the West Midlands (HEEWM). The aim of the service is to reduce exam failure through effective identification of dyslexia and other learning needs by providing effective therapy and support through an initial screening for Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Needs. Where there it is deemed appropriate following this initial screening complete a full psychological assessment and face to face support for all grades of doctors and dentists in training within HEEWM who after a referral to the Professional Support Unit it is deemed would benefit from this intervention. This service will cover approximately 80 Doctors and Dentists in training per year for initial screening using the most appropriate evidence-based methods/software. Following this initial screening trainees should be contacted with the outcome of this result with a copy of the outcome provided to the trainee and the Professional Support Unit.
