Description
Our emerging corporate strategy is focused on building trust and confidence, and the importance of doing so through our relationships with all water sector stakeholders. This means that, the website will be a key strategic communications tool for us – both by enabling us to build trust and confidence through the continuous provision of reliable, up-to-date and accessible information, and as a relationship building and regulatory tool. Website hosting and support services will provide a stable platform for Ofwat's new website enabling continuous access. The new website project is part of the Business transformation programme (BTP). The objective of the BTP – through its component projects - is to enable Ofwat to implement its strategy through: • implementing a new people strategy to create and support a flexible, well skilled workforce; • creating and implementing training and development programmes to provide the workforce with the necessary skills and support to undertake their roles; • implementing underpinning enabling technologies and systems to support a culture of collaboration and matrix working; • creating centres of excellence to provide guidance and support, best practice and frameworks to support projects and programmes; • improved management information and reporting on performance, risk and compliance. The new website is an underpinning enabling technology that creates a framework for programmes and projects to better communicate digitally with their stakeholders. Developing the new website will develop a centre of excellence and expertise in digital communications that provide information, guidance and reporting across the water and wastewater sector and beyond. Creating a plan for continual improvement and evolution of the website will include collecting better information about our website, including how audiences use it, and how the organisation can maximise the potential of digital communications as a regulatory tool.
