Description

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) (via Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) 1204 PPE Workwear, Uniform and Managed Services Lot 1) on behalf of The Northwest FRS's (NWFRS) namely: Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are looking for a single supplier to develop and supply both a technical rescue tunic and technical rescue over trouser as a replacement for the existing technical rescue tunics and technical rescue over trousers worn by the Northwest Fire and rescue Services. The technical rescue tunics and technical rescue over trousers are intended to be worn at a variety of non-structural fire and rescue incidents. This development falls directly from risk assessment as an exploratory exercise to design and innovate these garments for use in non-structural rescue specific situations. The new technical rescue tunics and technical rescue over trousers will enable the North West Fire and Rescue Services (NWFRSs) to change the way that they operate by providing fit for purpose garments for male and female firefighters that are relevant to the incident in which they are deployed. Below are some examples of incidents where the rescue jacket will be worn are: - • Road traffic collisions • Medical emergencies • Rope rescue • Other transport incidents • Wildfire incidents This procurement was run by a further competition utilising the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) 1204 PPE Workwear, Uniform and Managed Services (Lot 1).
