Description
As part of its commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030, Kingston upon Hull City Council ("the Council") is keen to promote the use of renewable energy and low carbon technologies within the city. The installation of generation assets and energy storage will contribute to the city's decarbonisation agenda and will increase renewable energy generation, decrease reliance on power from centralised production, increase local energy security and resilience and potentially provide the Council, with a long-term low carbon revenue source. This project will form part of a wider scheme of energy decarbonisation within the City and is a key element of the City Plan , and 2030 Carbon Neutral Strategy The Council intends to appoint consultants to undertake Initial Site Assessments and Detailed Feasibility for the installation of solar canopy systems on surface car parks and multi-storey car parks with complementary energy storage solutions.
