The requirement covers: -Fire ground radios -Remote Speaker microphone -Handheld battery and chargers -Radio cases and pouch -Vehicle mounted units -Portable repeater units -General items The volumes of each product type are detailed in the specification, but broadly the requirement is for 400 radio units. Background The Fire and Rescue function is delivered from West Sussex County Council (who are the contracting entity). Fire ground radios are carried on fire appliances as well as Flexi Duty System (FDS) vehicles and other support units such as Incident Command Units. The Service would like to transfer to ATEX-rated radios for some of its requirement. The Service is currently under contract with Draeger Safety UK Ltd using the FPS5000 face mask. Compatibility with the current solution will be a central consideration to the final solution. Some preliminary testing work has been carried out with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and the Service would like to align where possible with the final solution.
