Slab Tack and Earthworks Workshop

HS2 Ltd has awarded a contract to DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH to facilitate a workshop in October 2017 in order to share best practice on the design, construction and maintenance of slab track and earthwork interfaces. The objective of the workshop will be to discuss in detail the gaps in HS2 earthwork standards and compare them to the German specifications, along with the rationale as to why particular parameters and limits are currently specified. The outcome will be that HS2 Ltd will have a thorough understanding of the rationale for the particular parameters specified within the German standards and their importance in ensuring a safe, reliable high speed rail system. This will enable the HS2 standards to be updated, thereby reducing construction and operational risks when the railway is in service.
