Rapid population growth and increased urbanisation through modern residential development has squeezed people and trees closer together, increasing safety and land-use conflicts. Despite the multiple benefits trees provide they can also damage human prospects through causing serious harm, i.e. death and injury; nuisance through structural damage or physical interference - disruption to surfaces; inconvenience by impeding normal use of land, excessive shade, encroachment; and increased management costs due to unexpected maintenance. \r \r This proximity has forced an increasing intensity of proactive tree management by maintaining trees to reduce their harmful impact on people and to optimise the benefits they provide our communities
