Description
NCL STP CAMHS programme is seeking to develop a local integrated acute care pathway for children and young people with higher tier mental health needs which includes rapid community-based and out-of-hours responses to crisis. As part of this pathway, we seek to pilot an NCL-wide out-of-hours crisis service which provides: • Twilight and weekend (9am to midnight) cover provided by Band 6s with Band 7 leadership, integrated into Paediatric Liaison team. • Nightshift covered by on-call junior doctor. This is a pilot only and the delivery model and contracting arrangements will be reviewed in line with the on-going development of the NCL CAMHS acute care pathway and extent of any future investment. The provider has been chosen on the basis of the need to mobilise in short timeframes, for the provider to have established working relationships with other CAMHS providers operating across NCL to ensure coordinated daytime and out of hours services and for the provider to have an identified local base from which to operate which includes provision of paediatric A&E to ensure safe management of any co-morbid physical health needs.
